Four of us decided that we would have a day out last week, to make
the most of the Indian Summer weather, as it may well be our last
chance this year. My sister-in-law got to choose where we would go,
and I was kind of disappointed when she chose the Gower Peninsula.
However, I will learn for the future, not to pre-judge something
until I have done it. The day was absolutely fantastic. We started
out by visiting Aberdulais Falls, went on to Mumbles, stopped for
lunch at Bracelet Bay and ended up at Rossili beach. Rossili was
absolutely breathtaking, apart from the hike down to the beach
itself, for which you definitely needed to be fit! We walked for
miles along flat packed sand, saw the remains of a ship wreck which
is visible at low tide, a couple of beached jelly fish, cockles
still in their shells, and even cows on the beach taking a well
earned rest!!!! We then went back to Bracelet Bay for dinner, at a
lovely Italian restaurant, with views overlooking the sea. The food
and service were fantastic and it was certainly a fitting end to a
lovely day out.
